Hyper Compressor
Scope: Disassemble, Reassemble and Resurface of High Pressure piping/tubing and bolt NDE testing.
Summary: During a planned upgrade on a Hyper Compressor unit INTEGRA were requested to disassemble and reassemble high pressure compressor piping (tubing) and supports, resurface piping and component flanges in accordance with specification S4010-12905. Coordinate with the owner to get piping support blocks bore out, bag, tag and non-destructive test high pressure compressor piping (tubing) flange bolts for re-use, coordinate their work with other contractors and provide documentation certifying all the flanges were properly fit-up and bolts torqued to proper torque with a calibrated torque wrench. INTEGRA used Hydraulic Torque Wrenches of appropriate design and size to complete the disassembly and reassembly of the flanges, they cleaned the lens ring and cone ring gasket surfaces, machined the lens ring and cone ring piping flange and machined equipment required for Boring Pipe Supports. They also provided the owner with flange protectors to prevent damage to flange gasket surfaces. INTEGRA also used their ECHO™, Ultrasonic Bolt Load Monitoring system to verify the load on each flange.
Result: C201 Compressor was successfully upgraded to the customer’s specifications.
